Turn on the tv and you’re likely to see countless ads for “local” law firms…each one eager to take your case if you’ve been hurt or seriously injured in an accident. But the reality is, most of those firms aren't local at all. Some operate in cities hundreds of miles away from life as we know it here in Hamilton. So when it comes to choosing a lawyer, finding someone you can trust and who can genuinely understand where you’re coming from…both literally and figuratively…it’s so important to have someone on your side who truly represents you.
Thankfully, Hamilton has Kruger & Hodges.
Scott Kruger and Josh Hodges are the two founding partners that make up what is now the bustling law firm of Kruger & Hodges…or, The Hometown Lawyers. Their partnership would find its beginnings in 2018 with a shared vision, one part-time secretary, and a determination to build something meaningful in Hamilton. Little did they know just how quickly they would grow. In just a few short years, their originally modest venture grew to what is now a 30+ employee operation, with multiple locations and a new office space to fit their ever growing staff.

Their new building, located at 220 South Third Street, began renovations in 2024, and was truly a labor of love.

The now finished space is a striking reflection of just how far they’ve come as both lawyers, business owners, and as engaged, philanthropic members of the community.

The success the Hometown Lawyers have experienced isn’t limited to just them though. It’s the kind of success that’s reaching beyond the doors of their own brick and mortar business, and positively impacting the world around them. Where most law firms focus their marketing and publicity solely on themselves, the Hometown Lawyers have made the bold decision to showcase not just who they are in different facets of life, but to shine a bold and magnanimous light on the people and businesses around them.
We’ve all seen the commercials and ads for lawyers where they show themselves as sharks or pitbulls, relentless and aggressive…and there’s nothing wrong with that. It can be effective. Memorable even. But that route and that style of marketing didn’t fully resonate with Scott and Josh. So they decided to do things a bit differently.
The Hometown Lawyers and everyone who works at Kruger & Hodges, take immense pride in what they do and they do it with the utmost professionalism.

However, for Scott and Josh, Hamilton is so much more than just a place to grow a business. It’s the place where they spent their childhoods, where they went to school, and where they live even now.

They’re invested in the city as well as the people who live here. It’s why customer service means so much to them.
They want their clients to have the most positive experience possible from beginning to end. Investing in the newest technology can, without a doubt be pricey. But for Scott and Josh, it’s worth every penny.
For Scott Kruger and Josh Hodges, being a lawyer is what they do…but at the end of the day, it’s not who they are. That’s why, when they were thinking about marketing, and technology, and how they wanted the public to see them, they went fully authentic, and wholly honest. Part of that honesty is being true to who they are as human beings which means caring about their clients deeply and sharing the spotlight unselfishly with others.

Smaller towns outside larger cities like Cincinnati and Columbus aren’t always seen as thriving hubs for major law firms. Yet the need for quality representation in those communities is just as real…if not greater. For example…if you live in a town like Hamilton and you’re in need of representation, chances are pretty good that meeting up with a lawyer in a city countless miles away…is the last thing you wanna do. But you still need and deserve quality. Someone who has your best interest in mind. That’s why what Josh and Scott are building is so important.
They’re laying the foundation for quality, cutting-edge, law representation in small towns throughout southwest Ohio.
How are they doing that? By bringing in talent that’s not only looking to grow their careers, but that are looking to put down roots and grow the communities in which they reside. It’s a beautiful give and take relationship that everyone benefits from.

Whether it’s through innovative technology and conscientious customer service that makes their clients feel seen and heard, as well as valued. Or fun billboards, Tiktoks (their account boasts over 88k followers and nearly 3 million likes btw), the Around Town Minute, or the Around Town Podcast…Kruger & Hodges are always finding new and exciting ways to grow their business in the most authentic way possible.
Life can bring the unexpected. Thank goodness for The Hometown Lawyers at Kruger and Hodges. They’re good lawyers, good people, and true Hamiltonians.
