Pedal Into Fun

Pedal Into Fun

As we move on from 2024, a year that was filled with an abundant supply of high and lows, and we move into 2025 with cautious optimism, many of us will embark on journey’s to do better. To be better. And to make a more conscious effort to be better human beings. Many of these “resolutions” that we’ll make will likely stem from lessons we've learned, sometimes the hard way, as well as realizations we've had over the last 12 months. “New Year, New Me” isn't always about hitting the gym or looking different on the outside. Sometimes, it starts as an inside job and leads to a shift in priorities that can change our lives for the better.

Recently a number of different news and media outlets asked people what they'd learned from 2024. Some said they’d learned the importance of prioritizing their mental health by having fun and recharging their battery. Others said they’d realized how necessary it is to create a healthy work/life balance. Many though, were quick to say that they'd learned through hard moments, just how strikingly different their lives looked when they'd taken time to invest in their relationships. With friends, with family, and even coworkers. For many, they found that when they'd spent time making memories and having fun with the people in their lives, everything else seemed to look a little less bleak. So their goal, going into 2025, was to make time for more fun, more relationship building, and more opportunities to be in the moment, simply enjoying life and the people in it.

However, finding new and exciting places to create those moments can be tricky. Lucky for Hamiltonians though, there's a new, fun and engaging opportunity that's no doubt gonna be a whole lot of fun.

In 2022, husband and wife duo, Rafael and Toni Salem opened Hamilton hotspot, Pour House. A self serve tap room, boasting 42 self-dispensing, pay by the ounce digital taps with food options that not only taste delicious, but pair perfectly with whatever you’re drinking. Since opening, they’ve not only been a big hit, but they’ve branched out, adding a mobile trailer to their business for events around town. They weren’t done yet though. Mixing their love for the city of Hamilton with their entrepreneurial spirit, Rafael and Toni are now adding a pedal wagon to the list of fun things to do around Hamilton.

As Hamilton has grown, the Salems saw more and more the potential it had for something unique. Something that would not only serve the community, but that would bring people in from other places. Enter…Pour House Pedal Wagon!

The Pour House Pedal Wagon is a 14 passenger mobile unit that’s quite literally a memory maker on wheels.

Equipped with 14 seats (both individual and bench style), a party host…also known as a driver, radiant LED lighting, crisp surround sound, karaoke (if you’re brave enough) and usb ports so you can charge your phone as you move through Hamilton on your selected tour. It really does have all the bells and whistles! Safety was also of the utmost importance to the Salems…so they made sure their pedal wagon was fitted with seatbelts for a safe ride while also boasting a Safety Orange paint job for extra visibility.

If you’ve ever been to a big city (or even just a bigger city than Hamilton) then you’ve likely seen some variation on a pedal wagon. Maybe you’ve been walking down Broadway in Nashville and seen a Bachelorette Party giddily rolling through on a pedal wagon, or maybe you’ve been driving through the streets of Chicago and seen a pedal wagon loaded up with folks taking in a pub tour. They even have them in Destin, Florida…on the water. Most of them have a common theme though. Alcohol. That’s not the case with the Pour House Pedal Wagon though. While alcohol is definitely an option that Pour House will accommodate, it’s also not the focal point or it’s full purpose.

It seems like with every passing month there’s more and more to see and experience within Hamilton. Rafael and Toni saw that and they saw the potential it held. They saw the Pour House Pedal Wagon as a unique way to experience our unique city. Whether you choose the Bar/Restaurant Tour, which includes stops at places like Tano’s Bistro, Municipal Brew Works, Basil 1791, Billy Yanks, Agave and Rye, and Hamilton’s Urban Backyard… just to name a few. Or maybe you choose to go the retail therapy route…there’s a Shopping Tour for you. With stops at stores like Wildfire Home Goods, Inside Out Studios, Sarah’s House, Lahvdah, Petals and Wicks, Fleurish Boutique and many many more, you’ll have no trouble filling up a few shopping bags. But maybe you’re more interested in Art and would really enjoy seeing the history that is so rich in Hamilton. For you, there’s the Sculpture Tour. With stops all throughout Hamilton, from the Fitton Center to the stunning murals that are showcased throughout the city, the Firefighter Memorial to the Bridge Medallions…the blend of art and history is nothing short of stunning. Or maybe you’d like a tour that has a bit of everything…for you, there’s the mix and match option. There really is something for everyone.

Whether you’re looking to spend time with other couples on a customizable activity, going out to let loose with the girls, planning a team bonding event with co-workers, or maybe you just wanna have some fresh, engaging fun with family…the Pedal Wagon’s got you covered.

Rafael and Toni Salem truly have a heart for Hamilton and are so excited to be able to provide people with the means to see all that our great city has to offer. When choosing a location for The Pour House they decided early on that it would be in Hamilton or it wouldn’t be at all. They love this city, and they love the people. Their new pedal wagon will not only provide its guests with a good time. But it will also benefit so many businesses in Hamilton as well. The Pour House Pedal Wagon will quite literally, with each booked trip, be spreading the love the Salem’s have for Hamilton, beyond the walls of their own business and into the streets of Hamilton.

There’s a riddle that says, “What do we get more of everyday, always spend, but never have enough of?” The answer…is time. Time is something we never seem to fully appreciate until the reality of how little we have is exposed. It’s a true luxury and how we spend it matters. As we move through 2025, let's make the plans with friends, have the fun with family, and do something non-work related with your coworkers. See them as people, not just colleagues. And let’s create lasting memories that will bring a smile to our faces for years to come.

Pour House Pedal Wagon is now taking reservations online for their upcoming season. Book your trip now and be ready to see the City of Hamilton in a whole new way. It’s time to have some fun!
